      Gives engineer autonomy when working

      Cons

      Petty work environment, faults you for the smallest things Very isolated, no one knows what the others are doing Upper management very outward looking, judges everyone but themselves Very poorly prepared and disorganized in terms of work content, work is not centralized at all. If a person leaves the company, their work and its location and content is an enigma to everyone. New hire would have to go digging for it in the abyss.

      Supportive environment with some really smart people; a fair amount of autonomy is given to its employees; invests in development of innovative technologies

      As a small business, it may not have the resources that larger organizations do, although the pay and benefits are competitive, offering peeks like tuition assistance, and management generally tries to support employees as best they can, so a reasonable request is likely to be accommodated.
