Pros

- work life balance is fine - the new CEO seems like a great guy

Cons

- the h1b policy at this company is trash. They don't hire international students - They wait until someone's h1b is used up before applying for their i140 - which can be up to 6 years.

Thank you for voicing your feedback and concerns about Relativity’s visa and employment process for foreign nationals (FNs). At Relativity, we look for the most highly skilled talent who we believe add unique perspectives and value to our company, so we actively hire FNs across the organization if they are the best fit for the role. In response to your comment around transitioning to I-140 visas, we have successfully gained many I-140s for Relativity employees, and we do not wait until an H-1b is completed before applying for the I-140. We generally endeavor to start the I-140 process after an employee has worked at the organization for 12 months. This is communicated to all incoming FN employees when they begin their careers here. Unfortunately, we are unable to hire F-1/OPT candidates due to external legal constraints, and many other organizations face similar challenges. We are aware that the visa application process in the U.S. is quite complicated and can cause confusion for many – we hope this helps to clarify our capabilities. Thank you again for sharing your feedback and concerns. If you have any specific questions, please reach out to me directly. -Dorie Blesoff, Chief People Officer

Pros

- Smart and helpful coworkers. This is especially a plus for when you're first starting out, as generally everyone you reach out to is willing to lend a hand. - Above average equipment. High quality adjustable desks and really good monitors. - Laid back office environment with somewhat flexible hours. - They continue to hire aggressively which is a positive sign. - Great location.

Cons

- Things are unpredictable. You might start on a project and be told a month later that upper management wants something else to be prioritized instead. - While it is great that they have a well structured on-boarding program for new hires, which they clearly put a lot of money and resources into, it feels like a waste of time for engineers. - The development environment can be a nightmare to work with. I must have spent a tenth of my total time here trying to get my local setup in a working state to start doing actual work.
