Pros

Good experience for someone looking for their first real office job. Relias seems like the kind of company that people fresh out of college would be drawn to. They offer perks such as an on site gym, specialty coffee, and even table tennis. As you get a little older or further in your career, however, those things have much less cachet and you'd certainly rather have the extra money in your pocket or better insurance. It has almost a disingenuous feel as if management is saying, "Look! We're like Google! Look at our funky furniture and open office floor plans!" Yes, Google has a lot of similar perks...they also pay their people a whole hell of a lot more and have extremely generous benefits to boot.

Cons

While having a lot of young talent around makes for a lively company with fantastic diversity, it also breeds cliques and in-groups. If you're in the "right" group, you can go pretty darn far in the company with little to no experience necessary. If you're more of a methodical thinker in your work ethic, I promise you, you will not be noticed at this company. If you aren't the loudest person in the room, you will not be heard. This is the sort of thing that burns out great talent very quickly. Turnover at Relias is the worst I've ever seen at any of the places I've ever worked. People stay for about a year and move on.

Pros

- Benefits are okay. The only great one left is the 401k match, but the HSA is good, too. - Rank and file employees are great. - Good learning opportunities, if you have the time to use them anymore. - Lots of employee resource groups. - Some on-site events are fun. - Some front-line managers are excellent and supportive. - Generally okay work-life balance, but that's been worse since last year. - Half-day Fridays for 4-6 weeks in the summer.

Cons

- Just look through all the reviews going back to January and especially July of 2023. Look at the cons - they are all true. It's odd that all of the recent positive reviews tend to be a few sentences long (at most) and very vague. A lot of them just say "No cons that I can think of." Be suspicious of those. - There are lots of career development opportunities like lessons and courses, but they won't help you get ahead. They'll just hire externally instead. Good if you want to learn, though. - Pay is so-so, but it's currently capped each year with a cost of living adjustment as of 2023. It's been 3% each year. They'll tell you about bonuses - DO NOT TRUST THAT. You have to go hugely above and beyond your job duties to even be eligible for a bonus, and there usually "won't be budget" for them by mid-year. Amazingly, anyone who is a director and up gets a bonus baked into their roles, provided quotas/targets are met. Really strange that we cut our sales forecast earlier this year when it looked grim, and now we're on target. - Used to be remote, now it's hybrid for no reason. The head of HR called the entire staff "cynical" when there was pushback on this change. Any other dissent was equated to "bullying" the head of HR and was harshly punished, at least within Marketing. - The C-suite is incompetent and completely resistant to change. They can't set goals, they can't set metrics, they don't understand how to make things work at the micro level. Ingenuity was subbed out for acquisitions a decade ago, and the company has suffered from it. They actually think our tanking eNPS scores are because they haven't been transparent enough. In reality, the entire staff just sees the fact that they're in full wealth extraction mode. Honestly, I'm surprised that our eNPS scores are so low. Usually, staff are too scared to speak up because they think they'll be put on the chopping block. - The main consequence of these unrealistic goals is that they trigger massive layoffs when they aren't met. We've lost at least 20% of the company in the past year. Obviously, individual contributors are the ones who pick up the slack.
