Employees are not valued by the company, despite what they say. Relias acquired multiple companies during my time with them, only to run the acquired businesses into the ground and lay off all of the people without a moments notice. There is no job security, as you may be let go at any moment.

"Streamlining" efforts in February 2019 removed a level of management and essentially demoted many middle managers in order to cut costs. This left director-level and senior managers with at least 3-4x the number of direct reports, plus at least twice the level of responsibility. This was deeply unfair to the higher-level managers, the individual contributors who now had less attentive bosses, and particularly the middle managers who got set back in their career for something that was not their fault. The idea of someone managing 10+ people, plus having senior-level responsibilities and being spread too thin is woefully outdated and has been proven to be unsuccessful in terms of employee retention for years. This is just one way that Relias demonstrates that they want to be "a 1%er," and be a top-tier company, but they are so far removed from what their employees want and their product needs that they cannot accomplish their goals, let alone meet their bookings and revenue goals quarter over quarter. The CEO, Jim T, is a micromanager - when the company is financially not performing well, his solution is to have more people reporting directly to him, rather than actually hiring people he can trust to do the job that he hired them for. Decisions about the product are made not just without consulting senior-level product managers, but often without even telling them. Chief HR Officer Tina Krebs is also the embodiment of the outdated human resources leader who seems to dislike all humans and is completely unapproachable.
