Typical toxic culture issues

Business Outlook

Pros

Some of the lower level folks are great to work with.

Cons

Director and above are toxic. Really focused on go to market and cutting out those who helped build the organization. Cutting costs wherever possible to ensure stakeholders are kept happy. Micromanaging and many in leadership are faking it until they make it. The most “office” feel for a Remote company is the politics and irrational behavior and untrustworthiness of those in management. Plenty of hiring done to pad the support pillar of those in power and others outside of the country or inner circle are alienated and pushed out.

Pros

Can work remotely from anywhere

Cons

No support; leaders are not hungry enough for huge deals, don't show drive to want to win customers Quotas are extremely high, to set you up for failure.

Slowly losing its charm

Pros

Flexibility, trust, ownership, exciting space, great colleagues

Cons

Slowly chipping away what was wonderful. If you are reading this review and think that Remote offers unlimited PTO, then think again because it's max 30 days and anything above needs leadership approval. If you take more than 2 weeks, you also need leadership approval. Just give the employees 30 days PTO or keep it as unlimited, don't set this limit and communicate it as you expect employees to take no more than 30 days per year. The constant change is crazy.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We’re glad to hear you value the flexibility, trust, ownership, and great colleagues at Remote. These are all important parts of our culture, and we appreciate you highlighting them. Our flexible time off policy is publicly available in full at [handbook.remote.com](https://handbook.remote.com/). We’re proud to offer a generous approach to time off, especially compared to many companies in our industry. Our aim is to support life-work balance while maintaining a high-performance culture and a fair and sustainable approach to time off for everyone. Time off is just one way we support life-work balance; another is the flexibility to manage your own working hours. We know constant change can be challenging, and we appreciate your honest feedback.
