Pros

The health insurance is very good. The pay can be very good.

Cons

The short of it: My experience at this company was among the most challenging in my nearly 20 years in the workforce. The long of it: After much reflection, I feel compelled to share my honest perspective on this workplace. If you believe you can withstand intense office politics and a troubling environment, this may be the place for you. The culture at headquarters was particularly concerning, with leadership seemingly prioritizing the whims of investors over the well-being of employees. During my tenure, I witnessed multiple rounds of layoffs that created confusion and left remaining staff feeling unsupported. The lack of communication from management left many employees feeling undervalued and disconnected from the organization’s goals. Layoffs often seemed abrupt and poorly considered, with little regard for the ongoing projects that were left in limbo. This lack of continuity meant that new hires frequently started from scratch, disregarding previous work and further complicating team dynamics. While the pay appeared competitive, the overall work environment was fraught with stress and tension. The prevalence of office politics and cliques eroded team cohesion and morale, making it difficult to feel secure in one’s role. It often felt like decisions were driven more by personal connections than by merit, which was disheartening. In conclusion, although the compensation and benefits were decent, the toll the work atmosphere took on my well-being was significant. I urge potential candidates to carefully consider whether they can thrive in such a demanding environment.

Pros

The actual work is fun and interesting.

Cons

Got a little toxic over the years, alarming turnover especially with the higher ups. The joke was never be at HQ on a Friday because you’ll probably get fired. Empty promises of moving up are constantly made and never delivered. The only way to grow in this company is to be willing to be overworked and underpaid.

Pros

•Free tattoo removal •I was able to use PTO •Hourly is a livable wage •I made friends during training

Cons

There are many cons working at Removery for laser techs. • Laser techs have to do 100x more work than sales consultants. • Taking a client, doing the treatment, and charting the treatment records in 15 minutes is ridiculous. It’s even more ridiculous when sales consultants can run errands, grocery shop, and get beauty treatments done during work hours and leave early every single day while the laser tech is taking clients back to back all day every day. That gets really old. •There’s very high turn over for laser techs because of the work load. Laser techs are “reviewed” AKA micromanaged monthly by the clinical team. You will also have mandatory meetings, and MANY mandatory tests and assignments that you have to get done even though you’re 100% booked with clients all day long. Don’t even get me started on “guaranteed posts.” •Tips aren’t allowed even if you’re not a medical provider. •Honestly, I think the sales consultant position would be a pretty good gig, as they quite literally get paid to do nothing all day. •It was very rare to ever get a lunch break. •Charting and pre charting takes time. I don’t think it’s ethical or safe to treat 20+ people in a day. When you’re that over worked you will make careless mistakes. I am not someone who is ok with making a mistake with a laser on a human being. I had anxiety about hurting clients and was told “who cares if you hurt someone.” • You will only have 1 or 2 other coworkers that you work with every day. • People that aren’t doing their job and being a poor employee will not get in trouble. •No problems are ever solved. Management will just put a meeting on the calendar to talk, but concerns will never actually be addressed. •The uncapped bonus structure was taken away so people are making thousands of dollars less per year •There’s no commission for treatments. So you could be treating 20-30 per day, while a laser tech in another studio is treating 1-3 people per day, and you’re still getting paid the same, even though you’re working 20x harder. •You have to treat same day consultations on top of all of your regular clients that you are treating that day •Very cliquey, immature and unprofessional people in the company •Money is the main goal. Not safe and good treatments. •Long hours. You’re there for 10 hours on weekdays and you have to work Saturdays.
