-Fear based leadership. -I was pulled into a meeting less 6 months after being hired and they wanted me to throw one of my teammates under the bus and I wouldn't do and after that I felt like I had a target on my back. -You also can't trust anything that someone with a leadership role says. -Someone in my family worked for another regional airline and I was asked by a senior manager to go to the person I am related to and collect information on how they are hiring pilots. -They hired someone with the same title as me, less of a workload as me, and I trained this person and they started them at $26 and I was still making $23.43 (I started at $23 an hour and had been there for a year and a half and got a 43 cent raise), then told me I would have to wait 6 months for the performance raise but they would give me a new title. -In my opinion, they made an example out of a recruiter and fired them to keep the other recruiters from asking for more money. -You have to be careful what you do because if someone who ranks higher than you casually tells you to do something and you do it, you can get in trouble, even though it was never said by management or anyone that what they asked you to do it isn't allowed. -Working hard and doing a good job will never get you anywhere, I was told so many times by management and upper management how much they appreciated all that I did, but they would never put their money where their mouth is. -In the year and a half that I was there, I had 5 different managers.
