Pros

The training that Revature gives is really good. I was in a Java with Automation testing batch that contained many frameworks (e.g. Spring, Javalin, Angular) and hold people to a very high standard. I also had an interview with another company before my training was done.

Cons

The 2 year contract. Needing to move cross country. I have not needed to do this yet because it is early 2021 and the pandemic still exists.

Pros

After graduating college, I applied everywhere and never heard back until I applied at Revature. One of the reasons I decided to commit to Revature is because they were willing to get me the experience I needed to start my career. They're willing to teach you and get you into the door of fortune 500 companies. The training flew by. I was so proud of how much I had actually learned and its something I can use for life. I loved the work environment (it was remote because of covid) but it was a team based environment. If you don't work well with others you probably wont be a good fit. Along with the tech knowledge, Revature also helps with soft skills to prepare you for interview and presenting which I hated at first but I'm thankful for it now. You'll leave training with a portfolio of projects you can use as a resume.

Cons

I was nervous about the two year contract, I was nervous about relocation. It is a lot of work. It was stressful but I also get stressed out easily. In the long run, its only 2 years which isn't that long to boost start your career. During the training the pay isn't great but you're still being paid to learn which is better than college and you learn more in a shorter period of time. It does take someone who is determined and works hard to make it so if you expect to get by by being the team member that doesn't do anything, this is not the path for you.
