Pros

* Fast paced * Self-confidence * Coding knowledge

Cons

* Training pay (live-able) * Amount of work outside of work, but even then the more you put into it the more you get out of it. I thought of it as investing in my future.

Pros

Opportunity to enter the industry with excellent training. Trainers have several years of experience in the industry. Training process covers technologies that actually pertain to a client company's business needs. Project-based training really helped me in understanding the concepts of each technology. Some projects even have you working as a team, so you get more than just technical training, but soft skill training as well. I can't stress this enough: It's a great source for networking, regardless of where you take your career after training. All that being said, a lot of the learning is up to you. There is a lot to cover, and memorization isn't enough. Take time to understand basic concepts so that you have a solid foundation to work on.

Cons

When I first signed on, I didn't know what technology I was being trained on or what my actual job description would be (Not to say that I'm disappointed in the result!) Testers sometimes take a "no feedback is good feedback approach". However, if you're struggling, they are willing to help you improve. Training can sometimes seem "free-form", but this may vary with a each trainer's style of teaching. It can also help to keep the training flexible to accommodate for instances where the class is struggling with a certain technology.
