Pros

If you are really determine to jumpstart your career, then Revature does that fairly well. They give anyone with a willingness to learn a chance through their "free" program. It is free in that there are no up-front cost, but you pay it back with your time being underpaid as a revature associate. Everything is smooth sailing until you experience any issue with the client you're working for.

Cons

You are severely underpaid for your occupation while working for Revature, especially for the first two year and you are contractually obligated to work for them for the two year and you are expected to relocated to your client's location or in my case, even to where my client wants me to relocate to. The worst thing about working with Revature is the poor communication. They are both very good about keeping you in the dark about everything, and very poor at communicating with each other internally. I left the company missing 3 week of pay due to issues between Revature and their client and honestly, after getting the run around for 3 weeks, I am too exhausted to pursue it any further.

Thank you for your review and your positive comments on our training serving as a way to jumpstart a career. We noticed the line about you not receiving pay for three weeks. We take pay related matters very seriously. We would like to understand the issue and how we can resolve it. Can you please email HR@revature.com with your name and contact information so we can investigate?

Pros

Can get paid to do nothing if you're assigned to a contracting client. Can learn a lot during training. It's a great deal to get paid for training if you don't have to worry about rent.

Cons

Getting paid to do nothing as a contracted contractor (i.e. benched with your client) is not uncommon. Instruction needs to be standardized. Quality Checks/Controls need to be less frequent and replaced with online quizzes. There's no reason for QC to take two hours when everyone gets asked two questions. Instructors should practice ahead of time. Complete and utter disorganization. No one knew anything about onboarding or relocation at any step in the process. I extended my lease multiple times in anticipation of a move that never happened. Everyone working remotely gets $45k regardless of whether they're in a high cost of living area. The bench activities are mainly a waste of time. Should be restructured with real learning assignments rather than Kahoot games.
