Pros

Revature (Or eIntern, its former name) has definitely helped me move forward with my career more quickly than expected. I came to Revature with very minimal work experience after not being able to land a job. While it took a bit longer than they promised (they say 6 weeks, but in reality it could take you a couple months to actually land a job with them), I now am in a comfortable position with promise for promotion and pay raises in the future. I am grateful to them for starting off my career with a bang. If you can't find a job, this place will find one for you.

Cons

- IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY TO TAKE CARE OF, I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere. They might move you all over Gods green earth and sometimes having a family will exclude you from possible projects. A friend of mine had to wait over 6 months to be placed in a job at no fault of his own, just because he had a family and couldn't move often. He had to feed his family off $150 stipend the entire time and couldn't leave because of his contract. Ridiculous! REVATURE IS BEST FOR YOUNG PEOPLE NEW TO THE SOFTWARE FIELD. - Revature might send you to a client that moves you every 2 months or so. This happened to me at first and I ended up losing money. - Revature is a legitimate institution and did make my career, but sometimes their practices are sketchy. If they arn't contractually obligated to do something, chances are they won't do it. Make sure to get everything they say on paper.

Pros

Revature, formerly known as eIntern (and kin to MultiVision) pretty much does what it promises - it gives you a chance in an industry that you would have a very tough time getting into if you did not get a degree directly relating to software, and - more crucially - did not actually intern as a developer/software engineer. the biggest pro is that the training is very good. they expose you to a wide variety of frameworks and technologies that are relevant in the industry (i work with only a handful of technologies that they taught me, as will most people, but i appreciate the exposure and you will also appreciate it, giving you a better understanding of the overall context of the applications you will be working on).

Cons

the biggest obvious drawback (as i'm sure you know, if you trawled through all of the Reddit threads concerning eIntern as most people did) is that they will pay you 50k (or thereabouts) for work that is worth more. And there will be a 2 year contract with a stipulation that if you break it, you are liable for a 20k fine. to their credit, they are pretty up-front about that. so yeah, it's basically indentured servitude. and you know what? get used to it - anytime you work for somebody, you pretty much get exploited. that's how working for people goes - for every dime they pay you, you make them a dollar. also, the training is 10 weeks, and then there's a period where you are designated as 'marketable' (lovely descriptor), and that's a stressful time as you are basically studying to prepare yourself for interviews and any programming question interviewers might throw at you (the studying will feel meaningless there). some people get hired quickly (sometimes before training is even completed), but i've seen people stay 'on the market' for over 10 weeks. and they only pay you a 'stipend' ($600 a week, which isn't bad if you don't have any debt to pay, but unfortunately most of us do). so be prepared for that. and as you probably already know, you do not get a choice of what city you will work in. i imagine this whole process would be pretty stressful for somebody with a family (i couldn't imagine doing it if i had a wife and kids, but luckily i'm single and friendless). they also expect you to find a place on your own within i think two weeks of them telling you that you've been hired somewhere, so that can be pretty stressful too. i see my con section is larger than the pro one, but don't get the wrong impression - it did get me the job that i wanted. i'm not disillusioned. these guys have been around for a while, and somehow, they must be doing something right, because they keep sticking around.

Pros

They gave me the tools and support to get through a tough time in my life with family situations at home and a chance at a future in my field of choice. They offer free housing during the training, free materials, free training, no bills, and a 250 dollar stipend every week.

Cons

It took them several months after completing the training to finish it. There felt like there was little communication between marketing and myself during periods of wait
