Pros

0:They pay you to train and learn the in-demand technologies that allow you to be marketable. 1:They have a network of employers who consistently come to them for new hires, so once you finish training you have already increase your chances to get hired. The only thing that you need to do on your part is make sure that you follow along during the training, implement effective learning strategies, and study and practice the material daily (at least 1 hour for 5 days). 2:If you are active in the Revature community (or network), you get access to build relationship with a lot of people who could potentially open more doors for you.

Cons

0: it pays minimum wage (or a little over) and demands 40 hours of your time, so if you have other obligations or cannot afford to sustain your living off of about 1500 a month, Revature is not for you. 1: The training is intensive. If you let yourself fall behind for just one day, then you are going to be playing catchup for the duration of the training. But on the flip side, they do provide you with the curriculum ahead of time, so you can plan your studies and plan to be ahead of the curve so the only thing that you are doing during the lecture is following the trainer along. Lastly, be sure to download the code, dissect it, comment it, and write down any questions that you have so that you can understand what is going on with the code, the concepts, and be better engaged.

Pros

Coming from a background in computer science, I learned a lot about practical uses of programming and applied what I learned to a full-scale application in just 12 weeks. Furthermore, I made a lot of great friends along the way. My instructor was very knowledgeable and good at explaining topics.

Cons

Communication was the biggest hurdle for myself and my fellow associates, especially when deadlines were approaching and we weren't exactly clear on certain requirements. It would sometimes be difficult to get a clear answer (or any answer) on what we had to do.
