Work culture is heavily dependent on the team. Certain central teams have good culture that promote growth
India team culture is awful. The product being launched is mediocre at best. Certain people do bare minimum work with fat pay checks and all they do is actively engage in politics to keep their job. India team is the perfect exaggerated representation of big corporates with zero tech company ethos. In my time here, I have seen examples of every kind of -ism at workplace that it is hilarious at this point how such highly educated people engage in these kinds of casual discrimination. Even though there are experienced folks most of them lack leadership skills. Throwing people under the bus, harassing folks to the point of bullying is a common place. Filled with pencil pushing middle managers and folks who want to save themselves at all costs
Do not make the mistake of joining where neither the work nor the culture is good. The attrition rate of India team is so high that the execs have to be blind to not know the culture problem. The team doesn’t set you up to succeed in a role and literally lies through the teeth in the interview process about the work expectations
