Pros

Continues to invest in people through their development, promotions, or other perks.

Cons

Spends money a little too frivolously, so puts us at constant risk of layoffs to survive quarter by quarter

Pros

I enjoy working at Revvity’s San Diego site. The lab is well-equipped and the work is meaningful, producing antibodies and reagents used by scientists worldwide. The team is collaborative and supportive, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. Benefits are solid and the hybrid work setup offers a good balance between lab and remote work. Overall, if you enjoy hands-on lab work, collaborating with smart people, and contributing to science that makes impact, this is a good place to work.

Cons

Work can get hectic during busy project phases, and communication between departments isn’t always smooth. Career paths are a bit informal, so advancement depends a lot on timing and team openings.

Pros

I currently work at Revvity as a Field Service Engineer. The role gives you strong exposure to life science and diagnostic instruments, and you learn quickly because you are in the field most of the time. It is very hands on and practical. Training at the start is structured, but a lot of learning happens on the job. You need to be comfortable working independently and making decisions at customer sites. Most engineers are supportive if you ask for help, but you are expected to take ownership of your territory. Customer interaction is a big part of the job. Some days are smooth, others are stressful, especially when systems are down and labs are waiting. You need patience and good communication skills. Internal processes can be slow at times, and administrative tasks take a noticeable amount of time. Getting parts approved or shipped is not always fast. Overall, it is a good place to gain solid technical experience in the life science field, but you need to be comfortable with pressure and a variable schedule.

Cons

The biggest challenge is workload and travel. Depending on the region, you can spend many hours driving each week. Urgent service calls can change your plans, and some days run long. Work life balance depends a lot on territory size and manager expectations.
