Pros

Solid pay and benefits Solid technology with Eclipse host system and WMS system for logistics

Cons

Constant change from corporate on huge levels for past 3 years in a row. No real opportunity. Letting most of their veteran (5-15 year) employees leave for competitors over last 18 months. Can't win in the local market. Customer Service is a slogan or corporate buzz word, but really has very poor daily customer service, internally and externally. Good old boy network is huge from VP Level down to Brand and Area Manager levels. If your a GEXPRO Exec, your in control and promoted often, if your a Rexel Div VP or Branch Manager, you control your area or state and hire your buddies and promote them. Everyone else, myself included, languish for years in same position and then are laid off for other people less qualified. Distribution moved from team of long term employees to temps and 3rd parties who leave after 3-6 months, turnover is very high and experience and knowledge are weak in counter, inside sales, delivery, and warehousing. I had no boss or 4 different bosses over my first 5 1/2 years here, then the next year, another new boss was hired at corporate level and I was laid off after that. How to you get evaluated, engaged, plugged in, and excited about that? I feel like I have wasted my last 7 years of my career here. This is a soul less place that has no spirit, vision, or direction. Follow the path executive management at this company lays out, work here for a year or two to make some decent money and then find a real company to partner with, or one of their competitors.

Pros

The hours are good, benefits are about as good as you will get in this economic and political climate. Small staff. Lowest intensity I have experienced. I very much enjoy the type of service we provide.

Cons

No communication on any level. No structure or discipline. Not willing to discuss any suggestions whatsoever. No transparency from branch manager to hourly employee. Management operates as if possesses indentured servants. Nepotism is a serious problem. "In your face" discrimination. No contact or ability to consult with H.R. Will not enforce company policy. Too many discipline issues. Unreasonable retaliation from Asst. Branch Manager and Warehouse Management down. Racial slurs heard way too much. No accountability. Will discipline problem employees. Supervisors have "selected" employees. Discounts employees with practical experience. One sided approach to employee relations, as well as closed to resolution. Too much fluctuation in workflow. Customers dictate operations within company.
