Pros

* They hire developers with no experience * Coworkers were nice

Cons

* They don't tell you in the interview that you'll be writing code in a proprietary version of COBOL. * In addition to using obsolete coding languages, they use obsolete coding procedures as well. You won't be agile here. It's all 80s waterfall. * No vacation for the 1st year. Not much vacation the 2nd year. Health insurance has a sky high deductible. * Developers are issued desktops, not laptops. Have a meeting? Better bring a pen and paper! * They randomly test for nicotine and automatically fire you if you fail the test. Yes Reynolds, I understand the policy is clearly stated. I don't smoke, but I think it's absolutely insane a company can tell me what I do when I'm not working. * Did I mention COBOL?

Reynolds and Reynolds Response

We’re very appreciative of the efforts of our developers and the role they play within the Reynolds organization. While we do hire for entry level positions, our goal is to have an experienced team of developers who are familiar with the nuances of working within the automotive industry. If an associate feels that a lack of resources or a current policy is hindering them, we encourage them to speak directly with their supervisor/manager.

Pros

Reynolds does have a fairly nice office/campus, and some nice amenities. But doesn't make up for everything else.

Cons

Terrible business practices overall. * Claim they care about employees, but - no HR department!! Bob Brockman thinks he knows more than anyone else and can avoid the hassle of doing things the right way. * Terrible benefits for a company this size, especially compared to other companies * Nowhere near current market pay. * No internal posting of jobs - they just select who they want and promote, * Very "white male" driven company with some very outdated values. * Have a nice cafeteria, but "force" you to eat anything you get IN the cafeteria. Can't buy and take with you! * Absolutely no idea of how the company is actually doing. Very top secret. They "say" everything going great, and company is a cash cow. But never actually share any financial info, etc... I don't believe any managers even have a budget or P&L to track to. Insist on "building it themselves" instead of utilizing software or product already tried and proven. They think they save money by doing this, but actually lose out on a lot of product capabilities and usefulness, I got a new job (similar to what I was doing at Reynolds) and literally almost doubled my salary, more than doubled my vacation (without even having to negotiate it!), have an actual choice of much better health care plans, and am able to apply to open positions to advance within the company! What a concept!

Pros

There is a 20 word minimum for this space. My initial response was the single word "None". There are none.

Cons

Throughout the interview process for a senior management position, I took a total of 9 tests and didn't speak to a single human being except for the receptionist. Perhaps this is why the company has such low ratings for interview application process and trust of upper management.
