      Pros

      Location near the TX med center is cool (but the adjacent Herman Park area has a petty crime problem now. It's not as safe as it once was). LBGQT employees are welcome- many on campus!

      Cons

      Pay is low, low, low-----below industry and other universities----unless you are Full Faculty or top leadership (who are well paid). Male salaries more than Females'. 90% of the technical, support, maintenance staff are underpaid and demoralized. RiceU mismanaged Cov19 situation- they took care of students only, but told the Houston Chron that no employees were losing their jobs (not the truth).
