Funding was not an issue for the graduate school, 100% of graduate students in my department received funding and tuition coverage.

Cons

As a graduate student, I can say there was a great divide be undergraduates and graduates. Additionally, the honor code system is ridiculous and makes it very easy for the undergrads to cheat and not be held accountable.

Rice University looks out for employees better than any employer I've ever known about. Very fair. Very family oriented.

Cons

No downside to those already working at Rice. For those who are not but want to be, Rice University isn't a huge employer and has very little turn-over.
