Student workers are given real responsibilities but are still trained and helped along the way. There are many department and university-wide events and lunches that you get invited to as well.

Cons

Many office politics come into effect that can affect day to day work. Sometimes you need to do what pleases the university board.

Great benefits, prestige, unlimited training and events on campus, limited tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Parking prices, can be very political and not objective depending on the department, no promotion from within (in Library), lose lots of good people who seek advancement and opportunities elsewhere.
