flexible schedule and you will have a lot of time to spend with family. People are very friendly and you will have different chances to learn

Cons

not payed as high as in industry. The room for career improvement is not that clear. sometimes free boring doing the same thing.

-Relatively low cost of living in Houston -Close to downtown, medical center, museum district -Beautiful campus -Collegial environment -Excellent athletic and gym facilities

Cons

- Some advisors are exploitative in their expectations and demands - Plenty of people who think too highly of themselves and their place in the world - Not a lot of dining options on campus

Pros

Rice University treats it' employees with respect. The sometimes hire adjuncts to work as full time employees.

Cons

My only complaint is that I am still a temporary, part time workers. Of course, in this economy a school like Rice has a large field of highly qualified candidates for even part time jobs.
