Pros

-Nice coworkers -Comfortable and stable job. -Beautiful campus. -Work/Life Balance -Great supervisors. Loved the ones in my department.

Cons

-Paid parking. -Healthcare benefits could be improved? They aren't bad but if I had to pick something I'd point out this. -Limited job growth. For example, women are often placed in traditional secretarial roles with limited opportunities for growth. When asked about new job duties we often get the limited funding answer, which is true, but makes employees wish to go elsewhere.

Micromanaging, communication silos, lack of clear direction from the top, takes forever for decisions to be made, consistent inconsistency

Pros

Aesthetically pleasing (plethora of squirrels and trees), great people and staff and customers, good benefits especially 403B. Parking is cheap. Centrally located. Best kept secret in the city of Houston.

Cons

Tough environment in OIT now. Going through a lot of change and transition and communication between CIO and troops is weak. Higher ed is a much different animal to work in. Overtly liberal environment all the way to the top. Political dialog is not encouraged.
