Pros

I'm quite pleased working at RigUp. To say this is just a job would be an understatement. It's challenging, it is rewarding, and my voice is heard. We are collaborators and builders at RigUp. I enjoy the challenges and the team atmosphere here. Employees are treated as real stakeholders in the company and so we aspire to see it succeed. Our CEO started having a quarterly town hall / lunch with employees. I was impressed with his and management's ability to listen intently to our asks and advocate for the appropriate changes within reason. My personal experience is that this is a company where leaders and performers are proactive and take action to do what is best for the company and their teammates. Expectations are undoubtedly high and the team wants to equip you to do your very best.

Cons

RigUp is not without its wrinkles. Despite having a clear vision and goal for the company, from time to time our managers are shifting priorities and adjusting processes in an attempt to accomplish those goals. This should be expected at tech business like RigUp, of course. It does require not only ample communication (which RigUp's managers do a great job at) but also ample emotional and tangible support (which I believe a lot of the managers I interacted with could be more supportive).

High Growth, Inspiring Leadership, Good Pay

Pros

The company is bursting at the seams. We have expanded our office space every year I've been here, but we're now so big that we'll be moving to a new floor soon. The growth is fun to be apart of because you know that your work is contributing to goals being hit. The management here has a good vision and most are bought in on how we'll be able to change an entire industry. RigUp has made it very clear that every employee matters, and I have witnessed the potential a single employee like myself can have on impacting the business as a whole. Pay is performance driven as my manager would say and I've been pleased with how I've been compensated on the whole.

Cons

Growth is hard to manage especially at the scale RigUp is hoping to achieve. There's been some churn and the company has released several folks to make room for new hires and the direction the business is headed.

Great Team, Unsure of Management

Pros

The teams you work with have great people. People genuinely put in their best work, they are great people to go have dinner or a drink after work. Corporate culture is one of working together, not very individualistic. Company architecture is fairly flat which means everyone has some ability to shape product.

Cons

Management seems to be favoring short term gains to long term success at times. Fastest growing player in a shrinking market of oil field labor. Flat architecture can make it hard to know if there is any chance to move up. Money is stingy in an attempt to turn a profit, below market wages at a point when they offer little equity. The only real company value seems to be money, but at least management is obvious about that.
