Pros

Free drinks, snacks, and happy hours.

Cons

They hired an extensive amount of upper management who all have the same mentality of earning as much money as possible, no matter how bad the product. They make promises they can't match and know they never will, leaving client facing teams dealing with the aftermath. Many became managers simply due to tenure and not experience. This mixed with bad external managerial hires has led to one of the most toxic environments I have ever worked in. They will blindside employees with bad reviews, instead of addressing concerns early on and will pile on work loads and make it seem normal. People use their friendships in other departments to work the system or get away with anything. And they will make your life as difficult as possible if you don't joyously agree to working long hours or disagree with a procedure that has a clear flaw. RigUp makes everything look shiny and happy to clients and prospective employees, but it has become a facade hiding the overworked, poorly treated associates. You are either "in" with the right people, or you will be pushed to the side and eventually out. Sadly, they are a prime example of the egotistical "bro" tech environment and it's a shame, because at one point they were what they still say they are. There are some amazing people working there, who have either been brainwashed or are too complacent to realize something better is out there.

Career Defining Opportunity

Pros

People that work and thrive here are smart, ambitious, and focused on driving business results. It’s been a volatile year for many companies, RigUp included, but those that put in the effort are rewarded. This is not a rest and vest type company, you have to come in each week prepared to kick butt. And if you do that, you will be recognized and be able to progress your career as fast as you want. Executive leadership has stepped up their game and the company is in good hands. If we continue to execute, we will be wildly successful. The company has always cared about its employees but does now more than ever and it shows with genuine leadership, investment in folks, and an overall people first mentality. If you want an opportunity to grow your career 10x on the product, design, or engineering side I can say from my experience this is a great place to do that.

Cons

We need to invest more on sharing what we do and why we do it publicly. There’s a lack of information out there about RigUp, and unfortunately a lot of people only know about the company from what they read on this app which only attracts the extremes. I’m juiced to work here and I wish it were more obvious to the outside world. I know we’ll get there but let’s do it faster.
