Pros

People and perks and benefit (pre-COVID-19)

Cons

Terrible management. Consistently changing directions due to lack of leadership and knee jerk reactions. Consistent firing before COVID-19, which causes fear and competition between co-workers. RigUp had mass Zoom termination due to COVID-19 and oil crisis. Of course, the management handled the layoff process poorly. The management promised that they would not be laying people off. A weekly later, RigUp laid off 25% of the workforce without any empathy and an inadequate severance package for the current economic state. This company is not a true tech company. It is a staffing agency with manual processes and considerable overhead. I worked for many tech companies in the past, and I have never seen a tech company that cannot even manage simple tasks such as invoicing. RigUp's business model will not be able to handle any foreseeable downturns since the 1099 population will be the first to get cut during the recession.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate you sharing your thoughts. These are unique and challenging times for many organizations, who have been left with the difficult decision to have layoffs, to ensure the long term success of the company, and unfortunately, RigUp was one of them. We've been taking the necessary steps to support our employees (previous and current) as best we can. We’ll continue to find opportunities to support those who have been affected, and would love to hear from you if you have questions or ideas — send us a note at wehearyou@rigup.com.

Cons

Its not good. Bro culture is very real and politics are everywhere. no accountability for poor decisions or failure to execute, no real ownership of your work.

Pros

Lots of autonomy, collaboration, and "teaming-up". We have great healthcare and are paid top of market. Support during quarantine has been helpful (Fridays end at 3pm, forced vacation days, weekly townhalls, sympathetic managers, no mandatory office visits). Amazing co-workers!! Some of the comments on here are from people who were really upset after the layoff (I get it - and see it on other company pages who had CODIV19 related layoffs too) but this is truly a great place to work, where we are working on scaling a company with smart and fun co-workers.

Cons

Scaling fast, acquiring companies, and moving into new verticals, so can get confusing on who is doing what, who owns what, and some duplication of work. Goals and targets can also move/change fast.
