Pros

I’ve been working at Rio Grande for almost 4 years, and they have lived up to my expectations, and then some! The company culture is incredibly supportive, collaborative, and innovative. As an associate, I've had several opportunities to grow and take on increasing responsibility, which has been both challenging and rewarding! The management team is transparent and genuinely values employee feedback. They take time to mentor and guide you through career development, and I feel like my growth is being nurtured every day. I also appreciate the emphasis on work-life balance and the flexibility that comes with the role.

Cons

Like any company, there are moments of high volume, but these are generally balanced with support from colleagues and management.

Pros

Most coworkers are nice and there is a comradery with everyone just trying to survive another day of stupidity and torment.

Cons

Watch your back! The upper management sits on their thrones dictating unreasonable and often times unknown rules and regulations that are difficult and sometimes impossible to follow.

Pros

The pay is decent enough.

Cons

- The Rio "culture" is a guise. They try to present as cool and laid-back, but that's simply not the case. It is rife with nepotism and corporate conventions. If you are not a relative of upper management, you are replaceable. - I volunteered to help with DEIB efforts. The company relies completely on volunteer efforts in this area and couldn't care less to take an active position. They will shell out their dollars to make it appear so, though. Again, it is all for appearance. - Salaried employees are treated very differently from hourly employees. Salaried employees seem to be protected, while hourly are expected to follow a more rigid and unspoken set of rules. - Employee performance reviews cannot be relied upon to gauge your job security. I was led to believe my performance was great, only to be let go without warning in a large group of firings.
