Pros

Rio Tinto has a good work life balance and the benefit is good comparing to similar jobs. Salary comparing to other companies in Utah are competitive as well.

Cons

Similar to all other mining industry and companies, the guarantee to keep your position is unstable. But this is standard mining cycle so all expected. Other than unstable, there is no other con.

Pros

Pretty good facilities such as the health insurance subsidy. Very safety conscious and they do what they say. Tend to be the pioneer of high tech initiatives compared to competitors.

Cons

Company politics can get in the way of opportunities. Less technical development opportunities. Too many job overlaps. A lot of bureaucracy.

Pros

Great benefits, compensation, and people that work there.

Cons

Company isn't stable currently due to mineral prices. Leadership is lacking all around. You get promoted based on who you know rather than expertise and skills. You are just a number to the overall larger Rio Tinto parent company.
