Pros

Mining work is big, dirty, noisy, long hours, shift work - but, well-paid.

Cons

Company wastes a lot of money on badly managed projects and no one seems to care. They are running out of ore and have laid off a lot of people in the last year.

Pros

Large size company with decent pay.

Cons

They are so big that they can't take care of each small part of the company. They outsource whatever they can. They even outsourced management of their benefits and when they laid employees off they miscalculated their packages.

Pros

The benefits are good and they pay well for the area I live in. There are many sites around the world if you wanted to apply and move around the world. Emphasis on safety.

Cons

Management changes a lot. Because of that, policies often change. Just like many big businesses, the high paid important "old timers" are getting phased out for those willing to make less money.
