      Too much politics and BS all over the company, no job stability found in this company

      Pros

      good pay, great benefits, diversify cultures, free gym, (some) fun coworkers

      Cons

      too much to put in here. You name it: politics, games, betrayal, side taking, sleep their way up, manager is just someone who monitors what time you come in and go home and propose your position to be eliminated. Sucks environment. No job secure whatsoever.

      Pros

      Good salary package, some good people and the global environement make great international networking.

      Cons

      Very poor leadership, poor communication, lack vision and collaboration. Not well reagrded by the business, seen as a cost only, and not a business value enabler. Not the place for an IT professional looking to make a change. Lacking an experienced and professional CIO for well over 18 months.

      Shaky in recruitment services for Canada. Not really a company you can trust to work for longterm.

      Pros

      Interesting incentives if you can get a full time perm position- safety oriented, many opportunities internally.

      Cons

      Rio Tinto is known to lay off full-time perms as easily as contractors, its doesn't matter its boom or bust. Also prefers to deal with contractors than full-time perms for cost effectiveness Also- recruitment services for Canada to be outsourced, just like they do with people and organizational services in Australia. Rio Tinto does not invest in communities like the small mines they acquire used to before being taken over. This is devastating for local populations.
