Pros

The scheduling is very flexible

Cons

The pay is very low, and it takes a long time to earn benefits. Cashiers have to work a full year for a 14 cent raise, and still aren't paid the same as people who started working after them when the starting wage was raised. That is, of course, assuming you get paid. I have had many paychecks that were wrong - hours were missing or deductions were made for "cash advances" that never occured. Management is clueless about dealing with these issues - if they deal with it at all. I often feel like I'm being talked down to by the front store manager, such as when I dare express that I think having twenty hours missing from my check for four weeks in a row is unacceptable. Furthermore, pharmacy techicians are expected to train themselves, on the job, while still assisting customers, and by endless computer training modules, many of which are irrelevant to non-pharmacists. There are many who have been techs for years and still don't know how to do anything beyond count pills because of Rite Aid's unwillingness to improve employee knowledge.

Pros

You can earn a paycheck other than that there really aren't many good reasons to work there

Cons

management is paid for 45 hrs week but must (mandatory) work 50+ hrs instead. The corporate office is constantly relating to individual stores how poorly we are performing due to the ridiculously unrealistic standards it sets for nit picky tasks to be done on daily basis that has little to do w/ being profitable at store level
