Pros

Rite Aid is a company that has potential. At this time, in this part of the country, it has a negative reputation and is struggling to compete with CVS and Walgreens where people have shopped for years. At Rite Aid you have the opportunity to make a difference and take pride in your acomplishments because the people at the lower level are the people who make the biggest difference.

Cons

Rite Aid has a negative reputation. It has been transitioning 1600+ aquired stores and from the standpoint of an employee, has done a good job, but from the standpoint of the customer, they would rather shop elsewhere where there is no disruption. Also, managers are not treated fairly in their payscales. Once you hit a certain level, despite your performance, diligence or experience, you are not even given a cost of living raise. This is even more disheartening when it is public knowledge that the CEO is given an raise of $800,000+ more a year, equivilent to 20% because she deserves it! I think they need to take care of their store employees better. These are the people who will make their company successful.

Pros

These are easy stores to operate, compared to other retailers. There are good systems in place. Benefits are comparable to other majors. They offer a wide selection of merchandise, at a reasonable price, and are easily recognized and found by shoppers.

Cons

In the district I was employed in, there was much favoritism, often undeservedly. It was deemed 'off limits' to speak the truth in matters that directly affected the stores and employees. The desires of a 'few' affected the lives of many. I found this to be somewhat biased, and unfair, when it came time to await any promotions that I was worthy of, and entitled to.
