Pros

Great pay for minimum responsibility. Job makes you well connected through guests that come in. Create life long friends with other employees and guest. Can be very full filling job. Amazing health benefits and hotel discounts at all Marriott hotels. Can transfer to any department there is an opening. Can transfer to any Marriott hotel in the world you want.

Cons

Be ready to be blamed for things you had nothing to do with. The employee handbook will be followed and enforced without mercy. Schedule is random and unpredictable. Be ready to walk 9-14 miles while on the clock. Can be very physically demanding. Big time favoritism. Seniority rules, even if they don't work in your department!

Pros

Company culture, pay, benefits, health insurance.

Cons

Management that do not know how to properly manage employees. They act more like bosses than actual leaders. Leaders take full responsibility in case of mistakes and have the courage to find solutions to problems and do something about them. They do not even apply the real basic standards of the Ritz Carlton experience themselves so how could they teach of expect them from employees. They spend time speaking up to point out mistakes but never rave when employees do great. That says a lot about them. They do not have the balls to handle very difficult situations so they just let it be.
