      Wonderful company to work for.

      Pros

      Very fast paced and innovative company to work for. Very smart engineering team that come up with innovative solutions. This is a high-growth area even in the current downturn and it helps to be part of Riverbed which shoudl see its profile grow over the next couple of years.

      Cons

      Small company with, at this time, only one revenue generating product. This makes revenue lumpy and makes it more susceptible to the downturn. It's buffeted by large competitors - Cisco the largest among them.

      Pros

      The products have an amazing future. The technology offered by Riverbed is very dominant in the industry, in a way rarely seen before. We enjoy kicking Cisco around; Riverbed is one of the few companies that can go toe-to-toe against Cisco and consistently win. Caliber of colleagues in the rank and file is very good. Riverbed is able to attract and hire the brightest brains around.

      Cons

      Some senior execs are excellent, but others are political or not as bright. Sometimes I wonder why certain individuals are promoted while others are overlooked. The company has grown so fast that internal communication is sometimes fractured.

      Great workplace, needs tweaking

      Pros

      The product is great and makes a difference in how people work, not just a network appliance. Employee teamwork is one of the best in tech companies, even with growing pains. Great engineering focused on supporting the customers.

      Cons

      The management culture was better before and is overdue for fixing now. Some customers lack respect in the VP Worldwide Sales and have complained privately as well as unfortunately publicly. HR is the worst compared to all the big-name storage and networking companies, the policies and choices they make are for people that work in the US in some service industry? Support is more in the break-fix mode and not proactive support despite supporting a product in sometimes complex environments from people I've met.
