Has really gone downhill

Pros

You work with some really great people. Good quality outpatient care.

Cons

Inpatient side of the hospital has a lot of safety issues currently. Very poor morale. Overloaded staff. Lack of transparency by the administration. Adversarial relationship between staff nurses and management. Management made short-sighted decisions regarding staffing and staff treatment during the pandemic that has lead to high turnover.

Pros

Co-workers are good to work with.

Cons

Everything else. Interview you for a position labeled "full-time" and neglect to tell you that the position you are hired for really isn't what they want you to do. You will be lured in and once you are there, your position is changed and you take on numerous other duties as well as what you were hired for. Those duties are not necessarily in your description, but their wording makes it possible to move you around. I was not hired to do registration, but I was required to relive people and fill in because the manager would send people home for the day and be short-handed. Management also send you home when the patient count is low and if you want to be paid for the day, you MUST USE YOUR PTO time, which cuts your vacation. Change your mind while you can.

Pros

Magnet designated hospital with a solid reputation offers benefits to part time and full time employees. After 1 year you may apply to transfer within.

Cons

The hospital is short staffed with high nurse to patient ratios. They boast about patient safety being their top priority, yet that doesn't reflect upon staffing.
