Pros

benefits, pay, some coworkers, food (only during day shift)

Cons

Understaffed, mass hiring but most of the people they hire dont have common sense and are bottom of the barrel, poor chaotic management with rule changes all the time, told us 40 hour weeks but ended up with 60 hour weeks (Saturdays mandatory in paint department at least, full 11 hour shift 6 days a week), they lie to you in orientation and list all the pros but when you actully start working there they over work you so you have no work-life balance as they said we would, paint department 2nd shift (night shift) is so understaffed that we are the only ones (to my knowledge) that work 60 hour weeks, management is always on our tail and saying we arnt doing good enough even though painting is a whole process and takes time for your quality standards, we have a lot of downtime too because we are waiting for cars to come through our line. most of the managers and higher ups are incompetent and change rules, schedules all the time and dont tell you until the day before or before your shift. we have to meet a quota by the end of the year but it is too high and likely wont meet it because as I said takes a lot of time, we work as fast and hard as we can to make a quality product but they only care about profits and numbers but yell at us when there is a small mistake. management is awful over all and dont seem to know what they are doing, even if they have been in manufacturing before they are running it like they have no experience in manufacturing and how much time it takes to make a good quality product especially paying 100k+ for a rivian vehicle. you only get 3 unpaid/paid time off but with each pay period you earn 1 credit for time off so in total if you dont miss a single day of the year it adds up to 120 for paid and 30 for unpaid but resets every year but they never mentioned that its only 3 days each, if you call off and your out of hours youll get written up even if its an emergency. they preach their company values but they dont follow through with them at all, only work here if you like being over worked, incompetent management, understaffed, have no free time, no kids, nothing else to do/no personal life, a majority cant leave the job because of the good benefits and above average pay and a lot moved here for this job and have no where else to go/no source of income but they use that to their advantage and manipulate you into joining just to overwork you and incompetent managers and higher ups with chaotic schedules and rules that change dayly/weekly

Pros

Eye candies, smart people, good comp if you can manage to stay

Cons

Entitled people at all levels. Most people take pride to work for Rivian, and are proud of themselves for no valid reason. Leadership team is immature. After observing how they responded to crisis and tough situations, I have absolutely no idea how they got there. Long hours isn't the worst. The worst is those long hours didn't generate results, because leadership teams didn't figure out each department's territory and there was some kind of territory war among thus, causing the people below to fight and suffer.

Pros

Fun technical challenges They hired a lot of good talent

Cons

Wide layoffs from lack of strategy Expect to be overworked for no short or long term benefit Not actually invested in environment- using horrible manufacturing processes like chrome plating for cosmetic parts
