Pros

The opportunity to work alongside amazing people (colleagues in Recruitment) and making an impact of those seeking employment is the most rewarding part of the job.

Cons

- Lack of vertical growth opportunity in the role. - The company states that they have an open door policy but frown upon any opinion that doesn’t agree with the higher ups. - There is significant turnover within the department and as opposed to replacing recently separated individuals, the company chooses to over work the remaining team members without compensation. - Speaking of compensation, I would say that it is below average for the role. - On top of the subpar salary, the annual raise varies between 1-3%. - I witnessed the value of the employee benefits diminished over the years. It almost appears that the annual raises seem to slightly cover the rising cost of benefits contributions. - Management: My original manager was amazing. I felt like he was responsive, however upon his retirement his replacement was the complete opposite. To be honest I am not sure how she got the job. She is probably the main reason behind me leaving.

Thank you for the feedback. We have recently made a few promotions within HR to allow for vertical growth. We also promote growth to operations roles as they are the core of our business. Additionally, we have moved to a pay for performance structure as we rolled out performance management in 2024.

Corporate is a mess

Pros

Many of my colleagues were both kind and exceptionally dedicated. During my time with the company, I observed several instances of internal promotions, which reflected a commitment to recognizing and advancing talent from within.

Cons

The executive leadership lacks stability and direction — the absence of a CFO for over a year highlights serious organizational issues. The C-suite often prioritizes control over collaboration, focusing heavily on criticism rather than support. While they claim not to lead with fear, that’s largely what employees experience. Empathy is discouraged, and personal challenges are expected to be left at the door. Promotions are sometimes used to manage poor behavior rather than reward merit, and some competent employees have been replaced by associates of leadership, raising concerns about favoritism. Co-workers witnessed instances where I was treated unfairly, but there was no safe or effective channel to report these concerns. The environment feels increasingly toxic, with high turnover, minimal financial rewards (e.g., 1% bonus), and rising benefit costs contributing to widespread dissatisfaction.
