Pros

I loved going into work everyday, the diffrent people that I created friendships with and I still keep in touch with some of them, I had a GREAT manager and miss the place dearly just wish they had never let me go. Oh well Im sure they will re sell the company again and there will be more lay offs and new presidents blah blah

Cons

Wish they never laid me off and I wish they would give all the employees in Foxboro a raise because they are the reason why the company is still in buisness, they do more work then selling furniture or fabric. They put in the long hrs and they get nothing in return, think its been at least six yrs since anyone over there has received a raise. The sales people were always number one and thats a shame.

Pros

Overall, I really enjoyed the people. I liked my boss at the time. However, she left unfortunately. I enjoyed my team at the time. It was the best work team I have ever experienced. Great camaraderie. But then everyone eventually left for better opportunities. I enjoyed my clients.

Cons

There was such a disconnect between the new upper management and our showroom. Also, the new showroom manager was horrible. She would change my sales quota in the middle of the month when it was all set at the end of the previous year. She gave away the food gifts that were given to the staff and put it out for the clients to eat. Who does that? Just to save a dime here and there. Moreover, she would berate us on the phone to upper management while we could hear her. She did not respect us at all. She clearly was all about covering herself and keeping her job. There were no checks & balances w/ this showroom manager. So she would just lie to upper management. She would also take credit for everything. Hence there were MAJOR reasons why I was urgent to leave as soon as possible.

Pros

Somehow payroll was always produced...

Cons

Literally everything else... terrible management, secretive waves of layoffs that somehow everyone finds out about anyway due to gossip culture in the office... more layoffs, even more layoffs... bills going unpaid, constant monetary drama with mills... wondering whether your product will be released... Upper management changing frequently... rumors constantly circulating about the imminent demise of the company... wondering how the place can possibly survive another year. Absolutely abysmal culture and moral in the office. No perks to speak of except free fabric swatches... very low wages- at least 10-15k less than other comparable jobs in the field. Health insurance is very expensive with high deductibles because of aging workforce in poor health (probably from stress!) Very sad since they once had a beautiful product line and good standing in the industry. Now customers don't want to be told that everything they choose is discontinued after 3 months of release... or is on backorder for 4 months. They have ruined their own reputation by not caring about customers and only the corporate bottom line. The last breath of life that was left in Robert Allen has been choked out by the merger with Duralee.
