Pros

Company is open to new ideas from everyone. Not micro managed. Opportunities for advancement, need to apply yourself.

Cons

Pay raises were rarely given.

Pros

I hate to gush, but I had a great time at Rocket Lawyer. Was it easy? Never. Smooth sailing? Ha. The people? Mission-driven, dedicated, and top tier. I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to work alongside some of the best people I've ever worked with- hardworking, passionate, ambitious folks who knew how to deliver and have a ton of fun doing it (and after doing it). Also, good opportunities for advancement- I personally earned 2 promotions in the 30 months I was there, going from a base salary of 40k to 108k. Were it not for the skills I learned from my co-workers at Rocket Lawyer, I would not be where I am today.

Cons

Look- startups are underdeveloped and things are constantly in flux. That can be a very challenging environment to work in, but it can also create a lot of opportunity.

Pros

You don't have to be very good at your job, no one really notices.

Cons

Moronic CEO that thinks he's some sort of brilliant visionary. Company bends over backwards to cover up CEO's indiscretions. Anyone with any sort of talent leaves once they realize the interview and "culture" is all smoke and mirrors. No one cares how good you actually perform your job, whoever blindly obeys the CEO gets promoted. None of senior management is remotely qualified to do their job.
