Used to be great, now it’s like everywhere else
Pros
- the people that were there prior to going public that are still there are great; I truly miss my friends at rocket. - the first 4 years there were some of the best days of my entire career; they were so willing to teach you new things and provide constructive feedback to let you learn. - if you want a career change, they are willing to give you one.
Cons
- Jay Farner and Bob Walters have ruined everything that was once great about this company. The days of Dan Gilbert and Bill Emerson making sure everyone was happy and well taken care of are no more than a distant memory now. - it really is saddening to see how much the culture and company as a whole has changed since going public. People with names are just numbers now. - People are promoted based on who is well liked and good at their job leaving a lot to be desired in the leadership department. - Pay is well below the industry standard and they aren’t shy in admitting it anymore. They just say the benefits make up for it - which isn’t true; I didn’t know until I started looking for new positions I was doing the job of two people. - They aren’t forgiving of mistakes anymore. They’ll make it seem like it’s a learning opportunity but any of those learning opportunities will be in every review and used against you in performance rating for the next year. - Promotions are next to impossible to get, most are filled externally now.
