      Pros

      Quicken Loans is an absolute blessing to the city of Detroit. Working here makes you feel like you are a part of something huge. Seeing a city bounce back from bankruptcy and knowing that you had a hand in it is amazing. Quicken does a lot to make your time there enjoyable but the actual position itself is very stressful. Every single Banker I know has thought of quitting at one time or another. But those who don't quit end up being very successful and having a chance to make 100k to 200k per year on average.

      Cons

      The position is the most stressful position I have ever been in. There is a lot of pressure to produce and the long hours week after week will catch up with you.

      I still have nightmares about this place. Probably a great company to work for if you aren't in mortgage banking.

      Pros

      Flashy, unique work environment, nerf guns, big earning potential for the right type of person, being a part of the Detroit rebuild.

      Cons

      Crazy hours, mostly commission based pay for mortgage bankers, rah-rah culture, no room for personal touch. DO NOT attempt this job if you aren't someone that likes to talk, if you can't pressure people, or if you can't mindlessly follow orders. Frat-boy and military minded types will dominate. I left early on a Saturday to attend my grandmothers funeral and was made to feel guilty for not returning to work after the funeral.

      Pros

      Young Atmosphere & Training, good benefits, I knew nothing about mortgages when I started and after I left, I feel like a mortgage expert.

      Cons

      No work/life balance. If you have any other responsibilities or interests besides yourself and making money then this is not the job for you. Seriously, no time for family, friends, personal time, etc.
