Pros

Great benefits, good pay, free parking

Cons

This is not a job, its a lifestyle. That isn't a compliment. When you work at Rocket, your only hobby, interest, and passion is expected to be Rocket. I have recently been cornered into a position that I would never have chosen if they had been honest about the job. They deliberately misrepresented the role, now I can not even consider moving to a new area until I've been in this one for nine months, not including the four months of training. I've noticed there are very few older employees. They strongly favor easily manipulated 20 somethings who don't realize there's life outside of career.

Do Not Work Here

Pros

Benefits (medical insurance and PTO)...but that's about it.

Cons

Rocket Mortgage is going downhill, and fast. Don't let the news articles fool you about these buyouts (they call them Career Transition Program). You either take the buyout or you are forced to work in the sales department (mortgage banking) which has a 60%+ turnover rate. They will send you there to either quit or get fired. I was with this company for 7+ years. They reduced our pay about 4-5 years ago and we NEVER saw a pay raise after that. They do not provide any bonuses either. They are also forcing their employees to work 3 days in office (currently 2 days in office) starting in November and on those 3 days, you cannot take a half day to go to a doctor appointment, pick up kids from school, anything. They are forcing all employees to work full time those 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). And the reason for it is all lie. This is to micromanage and get rid of those who cannot fulfill their fulltime in office. You will never see a pay increase with this company, you will never get a bonus, and you will never have a work/life balance. One thing you will see is Jay Farner giving himself millions of dollars in bonuses every year. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Pros

There are none at all

Cons

This company is, and I cannot emphasize this enough, an absolute joke. If you value your physical and mental health do not work here. Your only value to this company is your ability to sell loans. They under pay and over work every employee. The benefits are on par with every company today equal size. If there was any drug testing done in that company most employees on the banking floor would be fired immediately. Outright lies were told about the company not slowing down even though the refinance market was drying up. This is overall a terrible company to work for, they drove a employee to suicide. Avoid at all costs.
