Decent place to start a career

Pros

Environment is easy going. Most people don't work too hard. If you have kids you can pretty much show up and collect a paycheck. Some snacks and drinks. Ping pong table and some fun activities.

Cons

If you actually want to advance a career and push yourself, the environment is not perfectly setup for that. Most people move too slow for you to be pushed. Many people just kill time on Facebook or do anything other than work, not motivating to actually get things done. Had to quit and find a new job which would actually challenge me and further my career.

"The Grind"

Pros

If you are young, hungry and don't want a life outside of work this is the place for you. When I worked there I was exactly that, but as I got older and got married and had a baby I just couldn't do it any more. It's a fast paced energetic call center environment. If you have no sales experience this is a great place to cut your teeth.

Cons

They will grind you, chew you up and spit you out. Just remember you are a number, and only as strong as your recent performance. They keep the leads (which they pay for), so when you leave you are only taking your experience with you. Just keep that in mind and know that you are not "really" a valued employee, but will do fine as long as you drink the cool aid and live the isms.

Pros

Will hire people with no previous mortgaging experience. An excellent platform to get hired by a more respectable mortgage lender.

Cons

This place is a sweatshop. One of the lowest paying mortgage lenders in Southeast Michigan. The team leaders/directors are not there to help you. Alot of blackballing goes on and transferring of workers to departments they have no interest in. Just overall garbage. Glad I work for a better mortgage lender now.
