Toxic chaotic mess - do not work here

Pros

When joining, this was a dream job. Flexibility, truly human centered, empathetic people and overall good leadership. Overall, decent pay and good benefits but not worth the cons.

Cons

Between 2023-present, this company has done a 180. It embodies all of the most toxic corporate traits and actively champions an unhealthy, and backstabbing culture from incompetent “leaders”. Heavy on a PIP culture that can have you fired for completely nonsense reasons just because someone wanted you gone. Goes on about transparency but there is none, and hides their toxicity and subpar product behind flashy company kickoffs and marketing schemes. Expect to be micromanaged and be in the office 4-5 days per week. If you try to seek the promised flexibility for yourself, you’ll find yourself on the receiving end of a PIP for one reason or another.

Sad company

Pros

- Decent benefits - Decent tech stack, a few things to learn - Generally nice people

Cons

- Hypocrisy: management keeps yapping about culture and how its the cornerstone of the company. They also run quarterly surveys just to ignore the results, do absolutely nothing about it while coming up with lame excuses to genuine feedback. Instead, they point fingers at other companies without ever acknowledging the Rokt's culture is toxic and outright depressing. - Nobody is ever safe: entire teams get axed and disbanded over night just because the management wants to, A bunch of people are leaving / being made redundant and more interviewing. - Bad work-life balance: frequent on-call issues (not paid on-call lol), you either grab and deliver big pieces or you might end up PICed/PIPed because your impact is low. - IPO has been "next year" for the last 4-5 years: constant lies about when it's gonna happen "if it ever happens". I wouldn't buy that stuff if a recruiter tries to sell you on this, go get real cash. On a side note, when reading a review, pay attention to the number of upvotes. This is how you know its geniune and actually reflects how people feel.

Be surrounded by A-Players

Pros

Fast moving, incredible people who are passionate and super smart, high growth (for clients but also for careers of employees), great benefits and exciting industry in e-commerce working with the world’s biggest brands.

Cons

The challenge of hiring people who fit and will be successful. Those who can’t keep up will be performance managed and if unsuccessful, exited, which of course means they get bitter and are negative about the company. It means for the rest of us who love it at Rokt, we get to work with just A-Players which is awesome.
