Pros

- Supportive and dedicated managers with strong technical expertise. Ideal place for those who want to build technical breadth and their careers, particularly within Engineering - Quite a huge graduate intake every year - Good development /training programmes for graduates and managers - Vast opportunities to work internationally and gain exposure and understanding of global operations

Cons

- Remuneration may not be as attractive as competitors in the same field, however I think the global exposure and development opportunities offered makes up for it - Slow-paced environment (depending on which sector of the business you are in) - Needs a change in corporate culture, could do with more younger engineers and professionals - HQ is based in Derby, which isn't the most exciting city to live in. Short drive to the Peak District though

Pros

There are almost too many to list! - One of the most prestigious companies in the world - Long term prospects (£62bn order book, UK No 1 superbrand, set to double in size etc...) - Great sense of pride and dedication within the workforce - Some of the most demanding and genuinely interesting technical challenges to work on - Great projects on the horizon - Solid training and coaching framework.

Cons

Not everyone will love living in Derby City although it is definitely improving!

Pros

job security; respectable pay; challenging work; strong brand identity; opportunities for internal moves among functions and international sites; enough variety in subcultures to find a good fit.

Cons

shared sense that even a strong performer one must leave the company and return to receive a significant raise; advancement is paced (i.e., few young people in leadership positions, though this is probably characteristic of the industry); differentiation among performance levels is weak (and this is not necessarily a bad thing).
