Pros

The overall atmosphere is pretty laid back. They had no problems with me when I came in late and my section was never perfect, but they never really seemed to care that much. It's a very easy job and not much is expected out of you.

Cons

Obviously, theres a lot of bending down and picking clothes up but thats the worst part. It's not the management that's a problem, but the slobs who shop there. No one is considerate enough to pick up a shirt that they throw on the ground. One night after work, I counted 236 pairs of shoes that I had to pick up.

Pros

The locations were close to home. This job gave an incite to "on-the-job" politics that went on around the workplace.

Cons

As a part time sales associate the hours that they gave me ranged from the morning shift to the night shift. The lack of a set schedule interfered with my life.

Pros

They care about their employees a lot and always try to reward effort (employee of the month comes with a $50 store credit, provide food for workers about once a month) and it is an excellent job for those who prefer to work on their own in a section that is theirs. At Ross, a floor associate is actually in charge of a section (or more) each night. Ross trusts its employees to make good decisions.

Cons

Still, they rely on teamwork. If someone doesn't have their section completed, you have to help them before you can leave. Also, working alone allows for your co-workers to slack off, which means you'll be there longer and may end up having to do their job for them.
