Pros

Friendly staff Good pension and private healthcare Nice office environment and amenities Good training opportunities for development

Cons

Extremely hostile employee treatment Upon resignation, workplace demanded I pay back precisely double what they were legally entitled to for training fees which caused a lot of stress. Rotork modified the relevant contracts of others in same position as me (to close the training fee repayment loophole) yet STILL continued to pursue me for incorrect fees (in the thousands), can’t help but feel they did this knowing their error. Also, they didn’t pursue others for training repayment fees after they resigned, even though it would have applied to them. Could be viewed as indirect sex discrimination. Never received an apology for their critical errors and received brutish and hostile treatment unfairly. Greedy and immoral; a blemish free career here and sincere loyalty gets you nowhere. Bonus scheme is disappointing- it is supposed to be performance based and it does not meet terms of reference. (Even performing at a great level, bonus can be deducted due to not being in the department for as long as others. Length of service in a dept seems to be an excuse to deduct from a bonus even if employees have been performing.) No room for promotion or progression opportunities No communication Immoral management practises Underpay staff No flexi-working- employees were left in the dark for so long and workers not listened to during pandemic. Employee voice is blatantly disregarded. Rotork pay below national average for engineering (there are other local cities which offer higher pay and better work benefits). Not much diversity. For example, engineering is predominantly white male and can count number of female engineers on one hand in Bath. Do not invest in younger talent and no retention of graduates. No apprenticeship scheme anymore. Used to love working at Rotork; shame it has become so toxic. Would never ever recommend and would never go back.
