Pros

Roush has lots of work available and is on the lookout for contributors. This is a great place for those who love cars; however there are also exciting opportunities in other industries (including projects related to aircraft and amusement parks). They offer competitive salaries for the auto industry, which are high when compared to opportunities in other fields. Great teamwork among coworkers. Good benefits.

Cons

Many Roush employees (in my department) work as embedded members of OEM engineering teams; this has pros and cons to it. Within the OEM team you may feel a separation from those who work directly for the OEM. Additionally, few people recognize the company and its achievements, even in Michigan. Not much training is offered to new employees; you need to be able to learn as you go.

Pros

Friendly, personable coworkers. Supervisors that were easy to get along with, encouraged input from junior staff members, and recognized good performance.

Cons

Depressing work environment; windowless office with worn office furnishings, harsh lighting. Benefits and vacation package below what I would consider to be typical for professional services, which is why I would not view it as a career position even if I was not a contract employee.

Pros

Over time is occassionally available. It was a steady paycheck. A lot of diversity in activities, so a great deal of potential to learn new skills.

Cons

Long hours. Low pay compared to similar companies. Very little time off. No work-personal balance allowed, expected to put company before family. No job security
