Pros

At Roux for 20+ years I've learned: If you establish a track record of hard work and solid performance, the company will take you into the Roux family and go the extra mile on your behalf. That includes both in terms of giving you more opportunity and responsibility, more financial rewards, and even taking measures to accommodate and/or help employees facing difficult or unfortunate personal situations. The people truly care about each other and the work they are doing.

Cons

If you don't perform well right away, you can get off on the wrong foot. So, it is important to make sure you take ownership of everything that comes your way and ask questions to make sure you fully understand what is expected of you in each assignment.

Hard work but Rewarding

Pros

Like many people below me have said, working at roux is great. They really do have some of the most brilliant people working there. Sometimes the hours can be tough, but it is worth it when you finish a project and feel can proud of the work you submit. There are incentive programs, food, and company moral is high.

Cons

The incentive program is great for the project managers and higher ups, but sometimes falls short on the lower end. For example, if a project manager doesn't budget enough for your work, you may not be able to bill your time accordingly, which lowers your final bonus while keeping theirs higher. If you use your vacation days, it negativelyreflects on your utilization as a result lowering your bonus. Also the CEO isnt that friendly, he kind of ignores the lower people. Other than that, ROUX is a GREAT company to work at

Pros

I have been at Roux for 25 years, and have stayed because it is a very employee-oriented company. I have never felt the need to test the job market. They believe in giving as much as possible back to employees to share in the profits and reward good work. Lot's of perks. Bonuses, incentive programs, happy hours, company picnics, holiday parties, provide lunches and breakfast several days a week, charity events. They actively seek to hire top people and do expect a lot from the employees, but reward them with opportunities for growth and promotions. Privately held, which is a huge plus.

Cons

Work is challenging and demanding, so if you like to cruise through the day, this is probably not the place for you. Expect to spend most of your time in the field and traveling if you come in at the entry level. You will get a lot of experience very quickly.
