The culture here is a combination of distrust, blame, and resentfulness. It has to be the most hostile place I have ever worked. They have policies in place to make them look good on paper but I have personally witnessed and/or experienced nepotism, sexual harassment, open racism, intimidation, and retaliation. And this has been going on for a very long time. The money that is wasted here is ridiculous. Painting the same office three times because the manager didn't like the colors that she picked out. They are worried about window dressing and appearances yet neglect safety and maintenance of critical systems. I have heard the statement "Perception is reality" come out of the mouth of a lower lever manager. No, you simpleton, reality is reality, now stop trying to justify your foolish spending. If the average NJ tax payer knew what goes on here they would be up in arms demanding that their tax dollars be refunded to them. It's absolutely disgraceful.

Understaffed, underpaid, underappreciated. Not enough support in the core departments: payroll, human resources, accounts payable. Makes for a stressful work environment when I am waiting for paperwork to be completed in core departments, while getting demands from students, parents, supervisors inquiring why the paperwork is not completed.
