      Good foot in the door if you want to go into healthcare!

      Pros

      No body is supervising you throughout the day you're kind of just on your own. Getting to work with different people based on your schedules you could have 4 different partners. Shifts are 10 hours and you're most likely going to get overtime but the shifts goes by quick. Everyone is welcoming and able to answer all your questions.

      Cons

      Sometimes we don't get lunches so I recommend bringing your own and snacks. It's extremely rare that you will get off on time so expect two hour layovers.

      Great start into BLS as an EMT

      Pros

      Even as a private ambulance company, you gain great experience as an EMT with not only IFTs but also code 2 emergency calls. Not to mention, there is a strong family atmosphere and you will "ride or die for the purple." I hear they are now offering scholarships for employees for nursing school and paramedic school.

      Cons

      If only the starting wages were higher, but this is difficult to find as a starting EMT. Also, be aware of possibility of being held over past your shift hours when there are additional calls or last call is long. But comes with the job.

      Pros

      Extremely helpful employees and staff that truly care about your future and are available and extremely helpful is answering your questions and concerns.

      Cons

      Starting pay is less than starting pay as a Walmart greeter.
