Pros

I’ve been working at Royal Ambulance as a Critical Care Transport RN for over two years now, and I can honestly say it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my nursing career. From day one, I felt welcomed into a team that truly values collaboration, support, and professional growth. The culture here is one of the biggest reasons I love working at Royal—it’s a place where everyone feels like family, and teamwork is at the heart of everything we do. The clinical opportunities are exceptional. As an RN in the Critical Care Transport team, I’ve had the chance to work on some truly challenging cases that have helped me grow both personally and professionally. The access to advanced medical equipment and the continuous training and education provided means I am always improving my skills. The leadership team really invests in its nurses, ensuring that we have everything we need to succeed, whether that’s mentorship, additional certifications, or simply being available for advice. One thing that stands out to me is how patient-centered the culture is. Every decision, every protocol is designed with the patient in mind, and that makes my work incredibly fulfilling. The work-life balance here is great too. As a nurse, it’s so important to work in an environment that supports your well-being, and Royal Ambulance really delivers on that front. Whether it’s through flexible scheduling or simply having leaders who check in to make sure you’re doing okay, I’ve always felt cared for as a professional and as a person. If you’re an RN looking for a place where you can grow your skills, work with an amazing team, and feel valued every step of the way, I highly recommend Royal.

Cons

There are long hours on the ambulance, there is also some downtime between calls, which helps with the overall pace. Plus, running with two EMTs on every shift is a huge positive—it makes the job more manageable, and the teamwork is amazing. The days can be tiring, but with a supportive crew, it’s a rewarding experience.

Pros

Great learning opportunity to hone in your skills, a very solid cct program, and scco/ smco has great operations.

Cons

If you don't suck up to the new lead of operations she will fire you regardless the amount of time and effort you put into this company, Also pay is quite low with no true way to get a higher pay. If you want equal pay for everyone it will cost you your job

Pros

Overall good experience with decent calls, great for anyone starting in emergency medicine. Pay is competitive and opportunities to have new experiences happen every shift.

Cons

Huge disconnect between management and field staff. Complacent culture slowly bogging down day to day work.
